Thrikkodithanam Sachidanandan was born on July 14, 1962 in Changanassery, Kottayam district, Kerala. He belonged to a family of Bhagavatha Acharyas (teachers of devotional scriptures) and learned music from his father Velinadu Krishnan Nair. He also received training from renowned musicians like L.P.R. Varma, Trichy Ganesh and Thrikkodithanam Padmakumar.
Thrikkodithanam Sachidanandan started his career as a singer in All India Radio, Kottayam in 1982. He later joined Doordarshan and performed in various programmes. He also sang for some Malayalam films, such as Shantham directed by Jayaraj, Chandranudikkunna Dikkil directed by Lal Jose and Kalabham directed by Anil Kumar. He also acted in some films and television serials, such as Krishna Gopalkrishna, Ammakkili and Sreekrishna Leela.
Thrikkodithanam Sachidanandan was known for his devotion to Lord Krishna and his rendition of Sopana Sangeetham (temple music). He composed and sang many songs in praise of Lord Krishna, such as Krishna Nee Enne Ariyilla, Krishna Nee Begane Baro, Krishna Nee Varumo and Krishna Nee Thanne.
